It all starts with our first conversation. I believe in transparency and setting expectations so you never have to wonder how I will add value to your birth space. Even if I’m stepping out of the doula role and into the documentary role.

One of the first things we talk about is how to prep and prepare your partner to be your main support person because I’m not there to take their place. I’m there to support you both on your journey to parenthood. The truth is most of the time my silent presence at your birth is all the support you need. But my education, training, and experience allows me to advocate when necessary AND to create the space where you and your partner can advocate for yourselves.

Throughout your labor I am there for anything ranging from emotional support to hip squeezes. My presence isn’t always silent and we’ve built a relationship together that makes it easy to use my camera in the in between moments, while still providing words of affirmation and encouragement.

I get to support you, and document your birth story at the time and that adds more value to your experience.
