"Imagine a world where women are encouraged to trust their bodies. Where myths about pregnant, childbirth, the postpartum period and breastfeeding are dispelled."
As your doula, my goal is to provide the tools needed to make informed and educated decisions. While also supporting you physically and emotionally. It's important to know that I do not take the place of a partner, but also help support and educate them to best support you.
"Childbirth is not simply a medical event. Having a baby is an experience that is remembered forever by the woman giving birth and her family. It is an experience that changes the dynamics of a family as well as the entire life of each family member. It is more than just another day, and the way a birth unfolds will affect a woman's confidence as a person and mother, her self esteem, and her relationship with others. This is true for her partner as well.
Women in labor require emotional support, information, reassurance, encouragement, respect and love...." CAPPA Position paper - Evidence based Labor Doula Care.
*****Proud to announce - Doula + Packages Now include a postpartum meal that will be brought to your birth*****
Doulas are skilled support persons who act as consultants and resources, not clinicians, We therefore work with the healthcare system by encouraging and promoting excellent communication between the birthing woman and the health care team, encouraging informed decision making and self advocacy, supporting the choices of the birthing woman, providing non clinical comfort techniques, and offering appropriate referrals when their observance or counseling uncovers situations that require healthcare attention or support.
